在入职培训的第一天，特里斯坦·麦肯齐博士前往银谷精神病院，那里关押着精神病罪犯。在那里，她从同样古怪的穆恩博士那里了解到了一系列奇怪的病例。

2021年8月27日早上7点，官方宣布将前作《人体搜索》改编成电影。三年后的同一天，同一时间，官方又宣布制作续集。这一时间点象征着故事本身——“你被一个红衣人杀死，死后，同一天会不断重复”。续集的片名和演员阵容尚未公布，观众们对后续消息充满期待。影片将于2024年9月下旬开拍，所有拍摄工作都将在九州实地进行。
